When your child isn’t feeling well, the quicker you can go from finding out what’s happening to resolving it, the better. With Summer Health, tapping into the expertise of medical professionals takes a simple text. No appointments, no office hours.

When we started our collaboration, Summer Health understood that connecting parents from symptoms to relief was vital. So the brand stepped into a connector role and emphasized quick access to care. We worked closely with the founding members to define the personality of Summer Health, turning the time it takes to receive care into a symbol of hope.

The brand role we created with the founding members of Summer Health was positioned to be the connector of extending their expertise into connecting you to pediatricians, advice, thought leadership, and peace of mind. The brand system utilized the role to be centered around the idea of navigation. 

We captured the medical conditions they treat and created a collection of iconography. We ultimately created a warm and inviting flexible system that emphasizes the ability of Summer Health to navigate someone to the best medical advice. 

The newly created brand system is flexible enough to speak to its target audience and efficient enough to expand. The system displays its unique positioning to address its core mission to radically simplify access to healthcare.

Life has its ebbs and flows, and our health shouldn’t suffer due to concerns about affordability. TempoPay redefines how consumers pay for healthcare expenses through an affordable, employer-provided, and risk-free payment system to get quality care when needed. With growing healthcare costs, TempoPay’s debit card allows consumers to pay for those costs through a payment plan that fits their life rhythm. Unexpected ER visit? No worries–you have money now and interest-free payments across weekly or monthly increments.

Together, we crafted a new narrative to speak about healthcare payments. Rather than the fear of not having access, we focused on the flexibility of payment options we create for individuals. Members set the rhythm of their plan, and payment due dates follow their pace. Visually, we wanted to display how the tempo you set to pay for care is unique to each person. We bring the TempoPay beat to reality through a special rippling effect within the brand system.

The sine wave is often used to measure the beats and the intensity or relaxation of sound. Using the metaphor of music and sound, we wanted to showcase the control of paying for care at your own beat. 
We extended the music and pacing metaphor during our engagement through a unique photography style, iconography, data graphics, simple typography structure, and high contrast color system. Our voice uses short, simple sentences that move at a clip, conveying TempoPay’s no-nonsense approach to confronting rising health costs.

Coral Health empowers diverse employees to feel safe and seen by working with business organizations to build a program that provides culturally-nuanced care. Its services motivate employees and support them to meet their unique needs. In addition, they keep business employees well at work and home with their personalized integrations and engagement tools.

Through our engagement, we created a system that directly showcases how Coral Health protects the health of a diverse workforce's unique needs. We also developed new tools such as a custom typeface, rich photography direction, and a visual system that mirrors the mission of Coral Health: to help diverse employees better engage with healthcare.

We created Coral Display, a bespoke display typeface. It contains fluid curves and organic angles inspired by the coral shapes found in the sea. This typeface not only evokes the safe space Coral Health provides, but it connects individuals and inspires functional icons through the Coral assets.

With Coral Display, we created a system that celebrates everyone's uniqueness. Every letter has been designed with a very particular structure which allows each one to be stretched and morphed into various shapes without losing its identity or readability.

The brand system also includes icons that are made up of these same organic shapes. These icons can be used on marketing websites, apps, and other digital platforms that need quick and clear communication of essential information for patients.

We developed a marketing website with a modern development stack and headless CMS in just two months. This approach allows Coral's team to scale its website and create pages without agency support. Our designers also implemented a modular-based design system that powers marketing websites, emails, and social media assets.

With this new online presence, Coral can tell the story of its company and the benefits of the product to drive customer acquisition in an increasingly competitive market.

Illumina is the leading manufacturer of genetic sequencing technology in biotech. In 2017, it was named one of the most innovative companies after lowering the price of the genome to allow for greater accessibility. However, Illumina struggled to reimagine its brand due to shifting culture interruptions and the rising stakes for genomics.  

AM:Collab redesigned Illumina’s global brand identity that uniquely expressed its purpose through a brand behavior derived from the origin of its name–illuminate. Light is the core element found in both the technology and its name origin. With the new redesign, light powers the brand system.

The element of light became the leading idea that drove the entire design system for the Illumina brand. Through light, the design system could ignite inspiration, provide guidance, and share the spotlight with top researchers in the field. As a result, the graphic device, color, and layouts utilize light to express Illumina’s purpose.

Expanding the Illumina brand system, we provided conceptual guidance, interaction design, and creative direction for its modular design system. The goal of this system was to create a suite of components that could ignite inspiration around the power of technology to guide customers through the purchasing process of eCommerce checkout. Each interaction used a system of light temperatures to demonstrate the hierarchy of UI action.

From the basements in Portland, Absci was born to change an industry in crisis—there was life-saving, world-changing potential everywhere, but no practical way to unlock it. Through its engineered version of E. Coli, Absci effectively created a factory for human proteins. 

AM:Collab created a brand system and story to celebrate a constantly questioning, thinking, and learning culture. We believe that is the only way to take on the impossible and make good on the promise of drug discovery and development the way it should be—faster, better, smarter.

Proto is an innovation consultancy founded by six ex-R/GA leaders with decades of collective experience defining successful new businesses and transformations. The desire for the creation of their brand was to represent their core business offering, intersectional innovation.

Alongside Proto leadership, we created a minimal and bold system to visually showcase the idea of transformation and intersection. Additionally, we created a collection of elements to display how the usage of three’s made a pattern for constructing the logo mark, iconography, diagrams, and layout organization throughout each design element.

With the most significant, broadest audiences in history having complex conversations regarding racial inequality, Grambling State University wanted to position itself as a modern leader to produce future black leaders who will elevate generations to come.

This campaign and tagline “Make it Gold” is designed to open people’s eyes to the life-long connection to the power, promise, and progression of a profound legacy and dynamic network. In short, Grambling State University positioned itself to own the domain of providing leadership when and where it mattered by significantly increasing fundraising dollars. To make this positioning a reality, we inspired corporate sponsors and alumni to invest in a vibrant, innovative, and equitable society rather than just an institution.

We celebrated the diversity of leadership within the GSU community through the authentic, empowering, and vibrant photography of Idris Talib Solomon. 

The new campaign system allows GSU to look like the leader it is. The metaphor for using gold indicated that when someone invests in GSU’s advancements, they assist in turning the next generation of future leaders into gold. The bold use of gold, empowering photography, and inspiring messages displayed GSU’s profound legacy across every brand touchpoint.

For decades, the category of proteomics used limited biased research and discovery methods. However, Seer created a transformative technology to remove this narrow limitation and allow researchers to survey the proteome at scale without bias. Through Seer’s new technology, researchers can now see the dynamic diversity of proteins across individuals through their proprietary engineered nanoparticles.

Alongside the determined executive team, we collectively created a brand to showcase the shared compelling vision to better the field of proteomics.

We utilized the nanoparticle to create the foundation of Seer’s brand. The bespoke Seer wordmark reflects how its technology combines to display the full dynamic range of the proteins produced inside our bodies. The brand symbol is a simple, graphic, geometric S, designed to showcase the dynamic ‘S’ curve created when surveying the proteome.

The technology designed to allow for surveying the dynamic proteome deserves an equally spirited brand. We created the foundation of the brand system based on a grid of four unique technology attributes. This grid made a systematic approach to produce infinite illustrations of dynamic ‘S’ curves unlocked by the nanoparticles. We created a brand to showcase the constantly moving and changing range of protein complexity.
